Re 1) there were all kinds of fragrant bouquets of vintage Hodgson and Souness years watching them (I know) yesterday. Some serious dogshit out there on the pitch and - unless they pull one of their instant GOAT rabbits out of the hat a la Torres/Suarez/Salah - there is literally nothing there to come in and fix it. I think Iraola is great, but he's going to have some 3D chess to conjure up to get a tune out of that lot. Could he some heady days ahead
