The danger had gone. He anticipated serious danger, when in fact he could have just poked it away. The dramatics of the tackle, didn’t fit the occasion. Branthwaite was still there too, there was simply no danger. It was an ale house tackle. How often do you see anyone lunge in like that? Tells you all you need to know. If it was poor old Keano etc…
As had been said if it was the other way round we’d be up in arms. No way would anyone be shrugging it off as nothing as casual as they are now.
We were lucky. And we take it all day long. Let’s hope he doesn’t make any more mad tackles from now on now.
