For journalists to point out the horrors committed against the working people of this country, and the poor of the Global South, they'd have to admit that they and their employers were complicit in all of these crimes.

As Chomsky said, the public are fooled by having a very narrow (and increasingly narrower) breadth of acceptable political views presented to them, but vigorous debate within those narrow guidelines. It's why the movement behind Corbyn had not only to be stopped, but utterly smashed and rendered illegitimate: it's why he's still mentioned constantly by both Labour Right figures as well as the Tories: the idea of an actual left-wing movement supported by millions of young, energised voters was literally terrifying to them.
Even Owen Jones, the media's favourite token "lefty", fell into line with the antisemitism bollocks, as he knew not doing so would cost him his extremely lucrative media career.
