Newspapers have always been the playthings of their owners, unsurprisingly rich families who wish to protect their wealth have political views to the right and thus so do their newspapers.
Its almost conditioned the public to this outlook, its the modern version of "Bread and Circuses" keep the public fighting amongst themselves and blaming "others" for their misfortunes and it stops them questioning what the people at the top are doing.
