I obviously picked the wrong one. It appears that William Bertha's son was born in Newport Workhouse, Monmouthshire, on 3.4.1893.
William Golesworthy the tailor (of Honiton) was a widower by 1881.
Might be worth getting the 1930 death cert for Elizabeth, it would give you details of who registered the death and where she was living at the time.
