Hi Judith, thanks for your reply. Up until a short while ago I thought that this was 'my' man and have done a considerable amount of research on his military career (I mean how many Orlando Halletts could there be out there?) but the date of birth was 10 years out and his birth place was non-existent. He married in 1810 in Plymouth when he was mustered in Spain! (Has the original parish register of marriages for St George East Stonehouse been lost? I would like to see the original entry but it does not seem to exist other than a basic transcription)
All of this and subsequent information i.e. the record sets on FMP and a previous reply to a post suggests a different person.
