Seeing a major part of the coronation broadcast yesterday i started to wonder other situations. Prince Philip did not walk beside his wife in the processions. Neither did queen-consorts who always had their own procession. The Monarch always undergoes several changes in wardrobe. Going from the red parliamentary robe into a white shift. than afterwards another gold/crimson coat and the golden cloak for the actual coronation.

This gave me the following questions:
1 do queen-consorts also go from red parliamentary robes to purple robes after their coronation?
2 how did Kings with their queen-consorts process in Westminster Palace for the opening of Parliament. If both wore parliamentary robes did they walk next to each other or did the queen-consort proceed or follow her husband's procession?
3 Queens generally have maids of honour to carry their train (Queen Alexandra being the exception i think). Did this also apply to the opening of parliament?
