Princess Mary also did not wear a tiara. I did not mean to suggest that the little princesses should have worn grownup coronets in 1937, theirs were perfect for them. I was questioning Princess Alexandra wearing a children's coronet in 1953. I think she should have been allowed to follow Princess Mary's precedent, which was very nice. But the Duchess of Kent had her own ideas about what was appropriate headwear for her daughter, as she demonstrated in her will!
