The matter of thrones and chairs is a curious one to me when the British seem to have a variety of both in more than one place.
So the empty chair shown here behind St Edward’s is the Throne-Chair you say is now at Windsor Castle.
I would view it as the throne for the reign of Elizabeth II because it is the one on which HM was enthroned during her coronation ceremony.
The chairs in the Throne Room in Buckingham Palace are often refered to as thrones.
There are thrones also in the House of Lords.
St Edward's Chair is often thought to be The Throne but it is not.
