Back in the late 1970s you could hear Musicradio 89 WLS play Debbie Boone / You Light Up My Life, a 7-second weather spot and jingle, then Kiss / Calling Dr. Love, and a couple songs after that Dolly Parton / Here You Come Again. Top 40 a.k.a. Hit Parade was a pretty wide scope… And it worked.
