Re: rebuilt carb and now acts flooded and wont start
Well Joe...you are on the right track!...It was indeed the timing...I went back through everything I had done to the thing prior to its non starting condition and checked again...it seems that the timing belt was off a tiny bit...weird...guess when I checked it the first time, I must of had it on the 15 deg timing mark and not TDC when I put the drill bit into the pulley to check alignment...anyway changed the belt even though it looked new and it started and purred right up!...guess what must have happened is that I was trying to connect the temp gauge (there in the front of the block) without taking off the timing belt cover and in pulling the cover back against the belt either stretched it or moved it off somehow....who would have thunk....thanks for all your help! Another job finally done well! Nice to have people to bounce things off...!
