We see then a direct correlation between Isaiah 66 and Zecheriah 14, also to Revelation 21.
In such, we see the arrival of the New Jerusalem in Isaiah 66 vs 13 through 16, the battle in vs 16 and 17 also called “Armageddon.” In vs 18 through 20 of Isaiah 66, we see missionaries of those surviving that event, going throughout all the world to spread the news of the arrival of the Kingdom of God. We also see in vs 20, that these missionaries will bring others back to this “NEW JERUSALEM.”
So when I posted originally in the 2008 study, just the actual reference to Isaiah 66 (1-6) I was in fact alluding to this knowing Blinky and others would draw such conclusion. BUT I WAS ALLUDING TO A GREATER TRUTH AS WELL! What prompted the study in the first place, was inappropriate attitudes that look to the restoration of the Animal Sacrificial system. This attitude exists in “SOME” of the Branch Davidian Survivors themselves, not all perhaps, but some. So does an attitude which I discussed earlier in this study here now in 2013, and originally with Blinky in 2008 publicly on “The Mt. Carmel Discussion Board” noting that Clive promoted that this city coming down in Zecheriah 14 is not the same as that in Revelation 21. Originally at a Sabbath Study in Waco in April of 2008 in Clive Doyle’s apartment he stated that the city in Revelation 21 was “NOT THE NEW JERUSALEM” and I stated it most certainly was, and that THERE WILL BE NO TEMPLE in that city, nor ANIMAL SACRAFICE. He assured me and those present there was. I knew without doubt the passage of Revelation 21, and if you read it yourself, you will find I was right in my assertion, that the passage cites:
Revelation 21
vs 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
vs 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
Now these same two verses are KEY to understanding an important truth about the CITY in Zecheriah 14 being the same as the city of Revelation 21. You see in that Sabbath Study in Clive Doyle’s apartment, though I knew I could, I did not correct him in front of others there to point that Revelation 21 indeed called that city John Saw coming down by the NAME “THE NEW JERUSALEM” to NOT have a temple.
Clive however, still, to justify his point quoted that the city noted in Zecheriah 14 which comes down after the earthquake, to sit on the NEW Mt. Zion, is a separate city another “NEW JERUSALEM” which come first. You see this passage of Isaiah 66:1-6 notes the presence of a “TEMPLE”, and I wish to address that further in a bit. BUT FIRST, I recommend you read the entirety of two chapters of Old Testament in the King James 1611 version, Isaiah 66, and Zecheriah 14. In such, I will address portions of each here to emphasize two points, first the ATTITUDE OF THE LORD, is one that ABHORS ANIMAL SACRIFICE! Look at the passage here of Isaiah 66 vs 1-6
Isaiah 66 (1-6)
1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.
5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
6 A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
Now I recall in this Study the words of PAUL citing to present himself as “A LIVING SACRAFICE!” Study up on the animal sacrificial system, and the TEMPLE Practices of the Jews, and then read ALL OF Zecheriah 14 and you will find that that FEAST noted in the latter passages of Zecheriah 14, that the RELIGIOUS RITES practiced there, ARE NOT THE SAME AS THOSE HISTORICALLY PRACTICED! The use of the Bowls which formerly oft held blood of animals is entirely different…a NEW ORDER of worship is presented, and the SACRAFICES IN THAT CITY will not be of blood and DEATH! THEY WILL BE, AS THE APOSTLE PAUL OFFERED HIMSELF, “LIVING SACRAFICES!”
How does one present a living sacrifice to the LORD? What does that mean? Go back and read vs 2 of Isaiah chapter 66:
“but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”
That is how one presents themselves as “A LIVING SACRAFICE”…by replacing a Haughty, Prideful Spirit that this world promotes to success by it’s own terms and standards, with “a poor and contrite spirit” that “trembles” at the WORD OF THE LORD!
Now Blinky, had a very prideful spirit, and I knew I stated such in terms verbatim, he would take it the wrong way. Proverbs teaches us that “Fools despise Wisdom and Instruction.” Now we have all played the fool at times, habored a prideful spirit. But I was trying reach that part of Blinky that would have at least perhaps studied further, in hopes he could see for himself the actual ATTITUDE of “THE LORD” towards Animal Sacrifice, and by seeing such in a passage correlating to the timeframe of the arrival of the NEW JERUSALEM and THE LORD also seen in Zecheriah 14, that perhaps he would re-think his position that there will be Animal Sacrafices in THE NEW JERUSALEM.
Now I want to show you a hidden truth in Isaiah, that will once seen, correlate for some of you, the truth that the CITY COMING DOWN in Revelation 21, is in fact the same as Zecheriah 14, and also the same event seen in Isaiah 66. Note Isaiah 66:vs 5-6
Now, consider those who historically are presented with a word of truth, even in recent years, who pick and choose what they want to hear. These are they who even now, come here, and skip through the threads. They don’t read every word, they think they already know everything. SO they read post one in a thread, skip down three posts read another, read next the final post and assume they got all that was to be gleaned from such. Do you think the LORD honors such? No, he does not.
So, these same people, historically, they read part, think they have the whole idea, and in fact gain nothing, and then go about backbiting, spreading lies and rumour to discredit the message, and when that fails they do the same to discredit the messenger. These are not those seen in Vs 5 above of Isaiah 66. These same miss important points, and some will likely do so here, thinking “Oh, I read that years ago, I don’t need to read it again!” and in such, miss important details such as this very update in 2013 to this study originally presented 5 years ago.
