Of course, Trump is an egomaniac, but unlike you lefties in here, I can admit the obvious. But this tactic of trying to get Trump mad at Elon isn't going to work.

I've been seeing a lot of Maxine and the Democrat freakshow lately, that's good comedy.

I don't think it was a tactic to get Trump mad at Elon, the picture represented what a lot of Americans are thinking and asking Trump about it was meant to get under his very thin skin (thin because
he's a big baby and he's older than dirt).

It worked.

The plan is that by constantly saying Musk is the real president eventually it will piss Trump off. When the Democrats and their media hacks do things in unison it's orchestrated. It isn't a horrible plan when you don't have much else. It's worth a shot.

Your mom was right Opi! Poor Maxine, it takes many more facial muscles to frown than it does to smile. She's not a very bright woman and it looked like she considered putting her hands on that young man who had locked the doors to the Department of Education, refusing them admittance. Screaming at him to hold his head up several times, so people could see his face. Demanding to see his I.D. again after he had already showed it to her.

Funny thing, she doesn't feel an I.D. is required to vote in her hell pit state. And her district has some of the worst scores in the basic subjects at the schools, but she's demanding his I.D. after he showed it to her. HE REFUSED, I loved it.

The Dems are their own worst enemy. Instead of losing their minds over the cuts and closures being made by DOGE, why can't they say let's take a good long hard look at the books, we may even agree with the cancellation of programs and contracts. But no, they are demonizing the folks who are exposing the ridiculous amounts of money coming out of USAID.

The Department of Education is next, and that old battle axe KNOWS what can of worms awaits them. Maxine, quit worrying about spending money and start worrying about the test scores for the students in your district.

Those griping and losing their faculties over these cuts must be getting a slice of that bureaucratic pie somewhere along the line.

Marshall - I think the issue most on the left have, me included, is the method Musk and his "staff" are using with the blessing of Trump. They are going into these agencies and basically raiding and gutting things without any goal other than to cut spending without any justification other than Musk doesn't feel it's justified. These are programs and funds that have already been approved by Congress, both sides have created these programs. I think you are going to see a multitude of lawsuits that will only complicate things and delay any real savings. If there are any politicians that would not agree, as you said, to a fair, systematic, transparent review of these things, they are the problem and need to go.

To me, Trump and Team love the "shock and awe" of this. The people who are really being demonized are Federal employees.

President Kennedy in 1961 established USAID to replace the existing aid programs because those aid programs became corrupt, simply put, not in the interests of the United States, rather individual bureaucrats.

Hmm .. maybe read up on the outlined core mission since its inception and you will( hopefully) realize that the allocated public funds for a great many initiatives are not aligned with the mission.

Is Musk going to cancel his own contracts? Shouldn't someone independent of him take a look at that... wait, why even scrutinize it... just cancel them, stop payment with no review.. that seems to be the game plan for everything else.

I see it as you said. It is not that Democrats and some of the Gop have a issue with spending cuts and review for waste. It is the way it is being done.

It is like a family deciding it needs to cut spending and just not buying any food for a month.
A better choice would be to stop eating out and using less meat and review other options.

Most of what Musk is doing is not legal and will end up with courts deciding and the is also unnecessary waste if money and resources.

Most of it is being done for the shock value and fear it creates.which of course it what Trump and MAGA thrive on.
