Dee, You have absolutely no idea what "Mr. Richy" is worth because you've never been in that kind of a position. Until you carry the burden of operating a multi million dollar business, don't speak to what they do. As long as their Board of Directors think they are worth the pay, they are.
When I owned my own business I made three times what my next level associates did. I risked my money. I had to meet their payroll I put in the hours. I deserved it and if they didn't want to work for me, other firms were out there. Funny though, my turnover rate was non-existent. Hell, I had an administrative assistant who was with me for twenty-seven years.
Now today, I drove through a local fast food shop to get a breakfast sandwich on my way to golf. I was in line (four cars ahead of me) for seventeen minutes. The kid on the speaker tells me, "I'll be with you in a second". That turned into a six minute wait. When I approached the window I told him to add a cup of black coffee for my friend who was with me. You would have thought I asked him to go to Columbia and harvest the beans. Three more minutes to get through his minimum wage head that he could ring it separately and I would just pay a second ticket. When I got to the front window the lady handed me my first order and turned abruptly, no thank you, kiss my ass or anything. I tooted the horn and she cane over and said, "Yeah"? I told her I was supposed to get the coffee as well. She said, "well he didn't tell me that".
And you think they're worth more than ten bucks an hour? If so, never go into business. You'll be broke in a month.
