I'm hearing there are discussions taking place about the village and Mitchell being incorporated into Granite City. I haven't heard if they are wanting to include Madison at this point.
My guess is this all boils down to federal dollars. I know the Granite City mayor is on his way out, and a few people have tossed their hats into the GC ring for April's elections. If this should happen, where does this leave the Mayor of Pontoon Beach? Do the property owners of the village and Mitchell have a say or vote in this, does a decision like this have to go on a ballot?
What are your thoughts, could we all be one big happy family-community? Are there advantages to this, if so what are they?
