Thats very noble Opie, but some players and management would not like it much even if they didnt squabble about it. And i know you would say too damn bad, and i would maybe do the same thing but.... Imagine Flaherty missing his start and them losing 5 to 4 in the next game. People would be biting holes in their lips to keep from saying something they would regret. And the Stl. sports site would be as bad or worse. Already they are trashing the manager and the GM after two games, imagine the star pitcher going to see his 3rd kid being born. I get times have changed but what i said about Bob Gibson was 100% true. Is an Uncle in the hospital a good enough reason for Binnington to have missed game 7 against Boston? If not why not? Nowadays who knows? Hudson did what he had to do, but had Fernando Rodney blown the game Hudson would have been pitching in, some people would have not cared for it. I get Hudson going, but other people were affected by his decision which is where the problems can occur.
