Clearly the Granite City Economic Developer Director believes we do, and I'm not saying we do or we don't. But I think the point is being missed, this James Amos is being paid to promote the benefits and advantages of investing in our town, and to aid and facilitate any new businesses who are willing to join our community. Not to rally this group to blame his personal failure of doing that job on the lack of Christ in our community. Who appointed Mr. Amos and this group in the video to determine where Jesus is and is not in our city? Who put them in charge of deciding who are sinners and who needs Jesus?
The image of our city being portrayed in this insulting video is not what is going to bring business into this town. Mr. Amos is trying to convince our residents, along with the mayor (who is probably already convinced), that saving sinners is the only path to developing and growing our community.
There is no place in City Hall for this theory. The Gospel and Jesus are alive and well in Granite City.
Mr. Amos needs to choose, Economic Development, and doing his job or the clergy. Either promote and work to bring new industry, retail and residential development to Granite City or continue to degrade, embarrass and throw shade on this broken town from hell as done in this video for the entire world to see.
