I would not have laughed at the prospect of the cubs winning the World Series before the Blues winning the Stanley Cup.
The cubs are in Market #3 - it's almost foolish that it took them so long to win it.
Finally, someone was willing to spend money, but also invest in development (and copy the Cardinal way).
Either way -- they did it.
I think the Blues have over performed in many cases, and have better than expected attendance --- basically, barely enough to make a case to stay in St. Louis.. but that loyalty means the world.
When I say over-perform, I am looking at the big picture.
This team at times barely had solid ownership and were on the verge of bankruptcy --- yet they generally made the playoffs most years and had a good showing in their arenas.
Any other team in any other similar sized city would have long ago been sent to --- Saskatoon!
