I have to disagree with that defeatist sentiment. Some sort of financial crisis may be the only way state pension reform happens, but it will happen one way or another. The longer it takes, the more severe the consequences. That's why an attitude of "it's too late" is the equivalent of throwing your hands up and doing nothing. By continuing to elect the same folks over and over to the statehouse means the longer we continue damaging the states financial status. Instead of throwing your hands up in the air, get out at every election, no matter how small or insignificant, and vote for people interested in fixing problems instead of people protecting their 'ass'ets...
