Even my beloved Cardinals are not incapable of irritating the crap our of me once in a while.
I was not one of these reactionaries that was out for Matheny's head when they were losing and then backed down when they got to a winning skid.
It is clearer to me that he doesn't seem to inspire confidence and that it may be a mistake that Cardinal upper management renews their confidence in him.

Cubs --- Copied the Cardinal way at its best....good for them...and a well deserved 2016 World Series champions -- as much as it pains me to say...
Astros --- Might they be enjoying their first ever taste of victory with Jeff Luhnow looking on?
The Cardinals are just failing in bringing to the forefront what made them great all throughout this new millennium....
Or maybe --- other teams finally wised up at what makes a model franchise -- and the Cardinals no longer have that advantage --- in getting low cost talent to produce significant returns.
