The Giants made their pitch and now the Cardinals will have an opportunity to do the same thing. Perhaps they can sell Stanton on the team being a con tender where the Giants are not. San Francisco has offered to pay 250 million of Stantons contract in a deal, ow its pretty much up to Stanton and maybe a few other teams. The angle will be look, you dont have to live here, and we will make you our new focus point and you can have a chance to win here. Maybe it will work maybe it wont, but that contract is going to be a monster to whatever team reigns this monster in. The negatives are that he doesnt hit for a real high average and he has been injury prone in the past. The positives are he is an RBI and Home Run hitting machine and a good enough outfielder. Now not the time to overvalue prospects if the team wants a chance to get this guy. St.Louis is not in the drivers seat on this, but they seem to at least be back in the game again.
