Trump says that the murders down in Texas are not a gun problem. He said that it is a mental health problem "at the highest level". To that I agree with his admission that we have a mental health problem at the highest level.
What is disgusting is his statement that the guns are not the problem and that mental health issues are the highest problem with the tragedy. Yet, in March, 2017, Trump signed an order reversing a prior rule that made it harder for individuals with mental illnesses to access guns.
It's also amazing that the yard game "Jarts" was banned when the darts caused the deaths of three children. However, our country will not do anything to impede deaths caused by the use of guns. Tougher background checks, supported by almost 90% our country, would be a good start. However, the NRA, with stuffing money into the politicians pockets, prevents even tougher background checks.
