When nomination petitions are filed, the local election official shall: 1. ACCEPT AND ISSUE A RECEIPT FOR NOMINATION PAPERS. Community college secretaries and county clerk/county board of election commissioners shall also within seven days of filing or on the last day for filing, whichever is earlier, acknowledge receipt of the petition. This receipt should bear the date and time of filing as well as the signature of the community college secretary or the county clerk/county board of election commissioners.)
