Did you attend the meeting held by Harry Briggs and the school board when they closed Niedringhaus? He explained the school was being closed because it needed a great deal of work to meet today's needs. I remember him talking about the second floor being an issue with accessibility laws and fire potential. I will personally disagree with my buddy Elroy. It was good to close it instead of dumping more money in it.
I'm sure the school board would be grateful for any of us to come up with a more viable solution for the building. If they tear it down, some of us old timers will be upset because it's a town landmark. If they kept it open and kids didn't have as good of a learning environment that other schools provided, we would complain.
I'm not sure what kind of business you could put in a two story building with no elevator. I also see the band truck out there and understand they are using part of the building for band equipment?
I'll go back to the original post. What did the lady say about our town? Did this bounce company have safety issues with their building or was it their equipment?
