Schmoe - Presswood approached my husband regarding the drainage issues we have in our area, having the background and knowledge that he has with his many years with the MESD, my husband listened. I'm sure [you] have personal issues with Presswood. I spoke with Brad Lavite several times regarding the hiring of a transitioning veteran. My position is not secure, my pay is barely above poverty, especially for someone with dependent family. Lavite looks for a permanent placement for his veterans, not a transient one. He was thinking when first approached that we could offer a union protected position. The ad for employment was placed here at GCG and circulated in local employment ads - no one applied. We did receive and still have around 18 to 20 job applications for laborers.
If you would like to see my wage and hour sheets, please come by and I will show them to you.
I have been very ill with some type of viral respiratory infection and can't seem to kick it .. my voice comes and goes, so I have been sick and under a doctor's care for several weeks now. I have been able to perform my routine duties and many times, especially when the crew will be out most of the day, transfer the calls coming into the highway department to our home phone.
I am not paid for answering the phone and taking messages from home.
I am aware of the definition of nepotism, but the negative feedback comes from the actions of placing that family member into a position where they have no qualification and they are monetarily paid more than other similarly situated people .. neither of these situations exist. I was more than qualified and my pay does not poke fun at ethics.
