First off, hate is a strong word. I don't believe you will find where I used that in any of my posts, unless it would be in the context of many Muslims hate our American way of life. Your disgust about my opinions about the religion of Islam, and you referencing nativism and Catholics, Eastern Europeans and Jews are a far stretch from my beliefs of being in favor of and allowing "extreme vetting" and a "temporary travel ban". Your outrage and reaction to my opinions are as if I am wanting to declare war on or eradicate an entire huge group of people who practice a religion of their choice, which could not be further from the truth. But, I do feel that true Muslims who follow and live by the rules and guidelines of the Koran, and believe in Sharia law have no place in our country. That is not saying, they do not have the right to choose what ever religion they want. Muslims who do follow the rules of the Koran and want to live under and obey Sharia laws should do so in what ever countries that share those same beliefs. They should not be allowed entry into the United States where they do not believe in our laws. "Why do you feel that we should allow people to starve to death or risk being killed?" I am a true believer in the fact that if you don't take care of yourself, you will never be able to take care of others. We can not police the world, we can not take care of the world. But, we can certainly take care of ourselves and rebuild what is broken in our own backyard. Once we are repaired and have regained our strength, we can then extend our strong and steady, compassionate hand to others who need our help. "Lastly -- Do all lives matter? Afterall, that was the retort to 'Black Lives Matter.' I guess that was hypocrisy as well." Yes, all lives matter. But more importantly than that question, let me ask you another question. Does one life matter more than another? Does one life that is in danger, whether the danger come from war torn counties or gang violence so extreme that a child isn't safe even standing at their school bus stop, or in their yard playing, or laying in their beds at night in a high crime neighborhood? Is an empty belly of a child any less painful being from a country that calls itself the land of opportunity? Even though food is plentiful and store shelves are stocked full, when that child's parents can not afford to buy the food to take away the gnawing hunger? The same question applies to medicines and education and all other basic needs in life. At least 44% of American children now live in poverty. We have American families homeless, a shameful amount of veterans are homeless. We have laws in place in our country that ensures that we take care of animals and family pets so they have shelter and food, and we can't even ensure this to our own citizens. Until we rebuild our own country and take care of our own citizens, we can not take in what the rest of the world refuses to. Only in emergency cases, and after extreme vetting and careful consideration should our country continue to take in more refugees, men, women or children. "So are we REALLY the home of the brave when we fear to lend a helping hand?" At this point, it is not out of fear, it is out of common sense.
