The first question boils down to your knowledge or (lack thereof) of Islam.
I just don't think your knowledge of it or its adherents is anything close to what the reality is.
I just finished reading an article about Muslim youth who banded together to help clean up and repair damage done to a Chaldean Church in Mosul, Iraq at the hands of ISIS.
You ignore the many Islamic communities who have denounced terror and have said that such Violence is not true Islam.
If you were to say "I do not want any Muslims who follow the Koran or Sharia Law in my Country"...
It would be equal to say "I don't want no Bible Believing Christians in my Country....because they must all be terrorists like that Ku Klux Klan."
I think the majority of terror and murders have been done by people who claim the latter book and not the former......though the adherents of the former are not totally perfect either.
In the first case....ignorance can only be the basis of your belief of Islam and the Quaran...and only ignorance.....but you have the right to speak it and the right to vote accordingly and the right to get us into the soup sandwich that we're in at present.
In the second case ---
I don't disagree with a lot of what your saying. It's quite the atrocity that our poverty rate is is what it is.
But if we really acted like they mattered, these people would cry socialism and want them drug tested.
The other side can't wage the war on the poor when it's time to help them, then claim them when it's time to turn an even colder shoulder to people suffering on the other side of the world.
Truth matters less and less to people on the right and they gave up the pretense of truth and consistency in arguments a long time ago...
But still - to say that our own poor lives matter when they have opposed every measure to help them is quite the hypocrisy. Cutting food stamps? Repealing health care coverage? Spending more to test people for drugs more than you'll ever save --- just to humiliate the poor even more?
So our poor here are used as pawns in the argument --- just as veterans are also put in as pawns in the argument.
So it goes --- why do we help refugees when there are homeless veterans? The liberals then ask, why do we piss away so much money for a stupid wall when there are homeless veterans.
To both sides -- there have been both Democrats and Republicons in power over the last umpteen decades..... and neither side has given them what they need after using their services in wartime --- they should both be ashamed....and the people that use them as pawns in their arguments.
A human being in need is a human being in need. The strict vetting that you say refugees need has already been in place.
We need to help our own better --- even when there is resistence from the right --- and accusations of Socialism.
When we have massive hordes of wealth and people starving to death...... it is a grave sin in both the Bible and Koran ... and even atheists can see the immorality.
But people will still wave their flag and Bible while carrying their gun and keep up coming up with reasons and excuses why it's okay to screw the poor both here at home and abroad.
