I don't see anywhere in #2 where I mentioned the constitution. What I did say is there is a strong precedent (past practice wherein justices have not been appointed in the final year of a Presidential term.
Now, if you're saying it's in the constitution, please call Paul Ryan and inform him so he can force the issue.
Here's the deal and it's the reality that the GOP dealt with in 2008-2010. They control the cards. It's just a matter if they nut up and back the President in his goals and objectives.
If they do nothing more than create jobs, through deregulation and tax incentives, repair or repeal and replace Obamacare, and posture us as a word powerhouse again, Trump will have fixed a few of the biggest problems he faces. The wall has been authorized for years. The money at one time was appropriated. It's going to be built and that's a fact. I'll pay more for tequila if that's what it takes.
Chances are that a few GOP senators will balk, especially if they were in a state that Trump didn't win by large margins. However, there's just as big a chance that senators and house democrats in the "blue wall" states may go along to get along.
We knew going in it was going to be a different kind of Presidency. He's hit the ground running and he's not going to be shoved around like his predecessor by countries like Iran.
