We took the kids to the trunk or treat event and the police department. What a great idea but what a mess. We stood in lines blocks long hearing people whining and moaning about the wait and how it was taking way to long for these ungrateful idiots standing in line.
The most aggravating part of it all was hearing these people from Godfrey and Collinsville and Edwardsville and Glen Carbon griping their ass off because their kids were having to wait. Over 2 hours in line and they ran out of hot dogs, and just about everything else advertised including candy.
My point being, how on earth could the police department predict that every neighboring town and even some not so neighboring would drag their kids into Granite City for the neighborhood trunk or treat event. Who does this? I would not take my kids to a town or city we did not live in, to enjoy their local event for halloween! Then piss and moan that their kids were having to wait.
Guess what, you intruding out of towners, you were not invited in the first place. These people turn their noses up at our city, but pile in by the truck loads to our fireworks and parades and now our Halloween events.
