Apparently it is only acceptable to open a new business or relocate/expand a business to an new location as long as the entire population approves the business and the location?
Not the entire population, but the MAJORITY. Why do you think there is a city council? Good Lord!
If this council did just a little more than say "yea" at voting role call and collect their check, we might have a fighting chance.
They each represent their ward! If you are an alderman you walk your ward, you send out contact information and request contact information back, do a monthly newsletter for your ward, use email, even the phone, to say "Hey, this is what is going on. I want to represent you in the decisions I make about the city, I will be voting on your behalf."
An alderman's job is just not "so and so at such and such address is unhappy because their neighbor is dragging out their trash too early"...they are making decision about the ENTIRE CITY based on what the folks in their ward want. And how would you even know if you don't ask?
Do you think any of these old dinosaurs have a FB for their ward or for themselves as an alderman? For crap sake, do more than just show up at the meetings. You can even generate a poll on your FB page, let your constituents know they can participate.
Instead, you only hear from them at election time, MAYBE!
HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA email, WHAT A CONCEPT!
