So, apparently after telling all of the voters in Granite City that the school district needs more money (in the failed referendum last spring), they are planning on taking the old Lake School (currently the Early Childhood Center) and renovating it as a new Board Office. I guess it is so that those that live in Emerald Meadows can have a shorter commute. Why not go ahead and renovate a vacant building like Niedringhaus School which is centrally located for all people.
That building was renovated probably about 10 years ago, if that. Not sure why they would plan on basically dismantling a program that places all of the pre-K and special needs in one centrally located building for shared resources only to place them back into every elementary school.
All old school board members should be replaced in the next few elections! Where is new guy Bill McMasters at to answer for this? Carolyn Yates? How soon will it be before she has her son move out of the district?
Just where does the money tree shed the cash for all of this? I suppose the forensic audit might show something.
