No they don't. In fact 97% of all federal cases, and similarly in most states, a trial jury never hears the case Largely because the vermin who commit crimes plead out so they can get their three squares and a nice cot to sleep on. Couple that with public defenders who have large caseloads because most criminals can't afford their own lawyers.
