MANY years ago I took my new to me horse trailer there to have the safety chains lengthened. I like to use local services when I can, and figured as they were right around the corner, I'd give them a try. I gave them three days, and would need my trailer for a horse show on Saturday.

I went to pick up my trailer when I needed it--the safety chains hadn't been touched. They had, however, replaced the brakes? I didn't know, couldn't tell, because I didn't use them, my tow vehicle wasn't equipped--but they wouldn't release my trailer without me paying them $250., and I needed my trailer. They were screaming at me that it was the law to have the trailer brakes--it had the box, and emergency brake--same way my friends and I had been towing the smaller horse trailers for years....

Maybe they were just doing a political favor,as I was having some problems with that at the time, but they sure screwed me over, and I haven't been back. Hoping some day the karma train will catch them...

They sure are popular with our local government, though, the village pays them a LOT of money to maintain the police cars...

Yup, have to agree with the others--Chuck's is awesome....Polite, friendly, competent and affordable....Very unlike what I encountered at Patterson's...
