We need to support our local businesses even if it costs us a few extra dollars. I don't want to pay triple what something is worth, but I also realize that $14 is chump change. We have to think locally first. Keep in mind that local businesses don't send a large portion of revenue to large corporations and CEOs who've never even been to our town. Shopping locally helps the community much more so.
Of course, I don't shop at WalMart so I don't know or care how much they sell pumpkins for. The $5 WalMart pumpkin will bring some revenue into the town, but a pumpkin at a local business will generate all of it's wealth to the community. But hey, I hope saving $10 on pumpkins helps offset your decreasing property values. You have to buy a lot of pumpkins if your property even loses $1000 worth of value.
