One lesson to be learned is, don't price your self right out of business. A couple of years ago I stopped in there early October to buy a pumpkin. I figured I would spend a few bucks at a small local business rather than my $3.00 to $5.00 at Walmart for a pumpkin.
I picked out a medium size pumpkin, nothing bigger than what you see at Walmart in those big displays. There was a young man at the register that rang up my pumpkin. He looked at me and said that will be $13.?? I can't remember the exact amount, but I do remember that it was just under $14.00 for one medium pumpkin.
I looked at him and said really? He said yeah I know....sorry, do you still want it? I smiled and said yes I guess so and the kid looked so relieved. This kid had no control over the prices and acted like he often caught a ration of crap from customers complaining about them.
