Here is an bit from Col. Suermann's Dec. 15, 1994 letter to Senator Carol Moseley-Braun in response to her inquiry. Anybody see a problem with it? FYI - The Senator's Southern Illinois Director put a lot of time into trying to resolve this (with Senator's support), and she hated these types of actions. This District in not debating the application of engineering principles nor his efforts to clean up the property. However, Mr. Lathrop's intent in this matter was to create a residential subdivision profit, not for the conservation, flood control, or wildlife sanctuary purposes which he constantly states in his defense.
