Hey, Lib...why don't you check out thelostbooks.com. On the first page is a link that tells about the formation of the Catholic church (who's, how's and why's). I think you'll find it very interesting and enlightening...as I sure did. Lots of authentic history concerning that here, and some eye openers. GIT, I wouldn't recommend that link on thelostbooks.com to you, but the site itself has many translated books considered but left out of the Bible and other "divinely inspired" books (over 900 of them!), including the Book of Mary Magdelene (what few fragments are left) the Book of Enoch and the Book of Adam and Eve. You may find those interesting.
I don't agree that if the claim was that the Bible was written by the hand of God more people would buy into it...there are too many inconsistencies, which is a big red flag for me.
