I think for many women the key is to find a partner who wants to be with his kids as much as they do and not have to quit a career to stay home full time if they dont wish to. I was in my mid thirties when I had my last child and my husband was home with our other son in the days and working nights. We both took care of the kids and household chores/shopping/appts..etc etc....It worked for us...kids are older now (college and hs) but when I look back on those years I am glad we did it our way. Our kids got quality time and care from both of us every day and we still have our careers. My hubby once told me his father didnt do much with him or his siblings when they were young (his Mother did it all) and he vowed he would not be like that, he wanted to be a big part in their lives...and he is.
