After hearing the governor speak, I agreed with what Whatusay is saying. But then I heard an interview with a union rep and another with a teacher. From what they've said, they have already made millions in concessions and are willing to make more, but the governor refuses to even talk to them or bring negotiations to the table. All he is interested in is getting rid of the union. Without the union, state workers jobs won't be protected from one state official to another. Who's to stop each newly elected official from coming in and firing employees and hiring their own family and friends? I don't have a problem with unions if they are willing to negotiate, and it sounds like they are more than willing, they just want to keep their bargaining rights.
