I don't think that she doesn't like the students or the job, I think she was frustrated with their attitude and the parent's attitudes towards her... No support from either... and this is why so many young teachers leave the profession. it is such a huge job - and many teachers enter the field bright-eyed and ready to make an impact - and get there and realize how bad of shape our nation is in - how little our nation values education - and how much work is to be done... and then you get the paycheck - one that required thousands upon thousands of dollars in college loan debt to attain - and pays you LESS than a QT sales clerk. ... i would be lying if i said i believed in the American education system...and i can say i agree with this teacher and empathize with her. but like myself - maybe she should look into a new career as well.
