I mean the guy got a job by promising a tax increase.
I see Pat Quinn as unremarkable in so many ways, and more of a party line kind of guy.
But I can still believe in his sincerity and honesty. I really don't think this was pandering.
Some people will be anti-gay union no matter what.
Some support unions buy not marriage.
Perhaps legalizing civil unions was something that would help the people who need it - and would at least make moderates happy that it is a Civil Union but not called marriage.
And the Radical Right, well they wouldn't be happy with any of it.
