Green space isn't always good. Too much of it leads to "gray" areas that are vastly underused and have no vitality.
That said, Pontoon Beach could offer its residents a little area on Long Lake that provides a small gathering setting. I don't agree with a beach, as the water is pretty gross in at least appearance. A walway, aka "Lakewalk," would be a hit. You could have a paved strip with tables and a couple pavilions, all of which butting up directly to the water, with a boat launch to the side.
Oh yeah, and light it up good, as it makes it more attractive at night and nobody likes dark parks at night.
