I understand the point you are making about tackle getting caught up in the intake of the fountain, but that should have been taken into consideration when deciding where to place the fountain in the first place.

This area needs to be taken advantage of in a positive way. Just like Dee mentioned. A sandy people friendly beach with a boat launch. The village could actually charge a small fee for use of the launch. Many beaches charge an access fee for a day in other states. If the fee were reasonable anyone wanting to launch a boat would pay it without much thought.

The village could even have a concession stand that offered bait and tackle, snacks, soda etc. The entire project would be a win win situation for the village and surrounding businesses.

What would the residents of the village rather see for Pontoon Beach, a fountain that halts fishing in the area and a shoreline laced with apartment demolition refuse that is so dangerous that it has made walking around the area against the law?

Or would the idea of a clean sandy shoreline with a few picnic tables along with a new boat ramp be better? I know I would much rather see fisherman, and boats of all kinds on the lake, instead of a fountain along with threatening signs of possible fines.
