I couldnt agree more! When is enough, enough with this guy. About three years ago he decided to drive at a high rate of speed down Nameoki Rd around midnight coming from Bindys direction without any headlights on, no blinker, nothing and turned right out in front of me. I had no time to react and t-boned him..my car was totaled. Even worse, I had 4 teenage boys in the car with me, My son and three of his friends. We were on our way back from a concert that I took them to see. Two of the boys suffered injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, the rest of us suffered minor injuries. What really ticked me off was that after I woke up from being blacked out when the cars hit, I looked up and Mr Laub started his car and took off, yep drove right around us and was no where to be seen!!! Not once checking to see if any of us were ok. He did show back up sometime later BUT parked about a block down the road where he was questioned alone by police (he knew how it worked). I did have a EMT tell me after checking on Mr.Laub That he was "sick of people drinking and driving"! I later asked the officer at the hosiptal if Mr. Laub was charged with DUI, and was told NO, that he was UNDER the influence!! I wasnt very happy about this and asked if I could see the police record that showed his results. The officer tells me that if someone is under the influence that they dont have to put it into the report! He wasnt even charged with leaving the accident because he came back (even though as I was on the phone calling for help after the accident, I was telling the officer on the phone that the other car was taking off). He walked away from this accident with one ticket for failure to yield! After going to the tow yard, I was told there that this was Mr. Laubs second accident that week. I honestly beleave that If I didnt have two witnesses, he would have got away with everything and im sure it would have been MY fault. I very well could have had a car full of teenagers that could have died that night....is this what its going to take to stop this guy and quit allowing him to get away with everything??? I sure hope not but if they keep letting him off, it very well could happen. Please dont get me wrong Im not one that "dislikes" the police but any officer that keeps allowing this guy to get away with everything should be charged as well. I was once married to a police officer and know all to well how "some" are let go. Im compleatly against it and beleave anyone that breaks the law should be charged.
