If you wanna be really ole school...Think National..think Schnucks at Big Lots.. Now that's going way back.
I have heard some complaints of the retailer in one of Schnuck's old locations. I seem to find what I need, but others have complained about the same thing -- not finding what they need.
I think managers like to change locations of things every now and then.
At the very worst, a customer has to give more 'sight time' to other products while looking for the one they want. Thus being enticed to buy more things.
I am not sure how much psychology goes into a food store, but food retailing has one of the lowest profit margins out there, so I am sure that volume is everything, and whatever it takes to move the volume, I am sure they will try.
