Trump has made the comments in adoration of dictators, even wishing he had the same powers and able to bypass inconvenient things such as the Constitution and rule or law. What he has said about his opposition, or others who oppose him - as 'the enemy within'. That is scary rhetoric indeed.
I would always try to keep the word Hitler out of anything if it were me, no matter what side I supported. But when a 'leader' wants to crush the opposition from within, he's in the company of some of the darkest pages of World History.
There is just no plausible case for Trump taking over the White House; he shouldn't have even been given the Republican nomination. It's all on the voter why they would choose anything other than good governance. What Trump appeals to in a person is not a desire for good governance.
There could be many reasons, and I'm not going to posit the reasons why. But support for Trump is all in the psyche of the voter.
If you could reason with MAGA, there would be no MAGA.
