I recently lost my uBlock Origin also and had ads all over this newsgroup. Your recommended ad blocker got rid of them. I don't know about YouTube, which I use a lot, because I panicked and signed up for YouTube Premium (got 3 months free), which allows me to use YouTube and YouTube Music without ads.
