BK on the site that you still get ads with adblock plus, did you tried left clicking onto adblock plus and then scrolling down to the blue box that says Block Elements and click onto that and then scroll down to the ad you want block. It should automatically highlight the ad in pink, then if I remember right a popup shows up where it allows you to preview if you're blocking the correct item and if it is, you click the Block button in that popup.

It's been a long time since I've had any extra ads that I had to block that adblock plus didn't automatically block but when I did, the Block Element option did work for me.
