As long as it works for you, stick with it.

I did check out an old chat group that I remembered small ads popping up with adblock-plus and I just blocked one of their ads by the Block Element feature and it worked. After it highlighted the ad in pick, I did need to click onto that highlighted area in order to bring up the popup asking if I wanted to preview and then block it.
