Too young to be accepted at Emory?Archived Message

I will graduate college this May at the age of 22. I'm still debating on whether or not to apply to AA school this month, but if I do apply and get accepted somewhere, I would prefer it be Emory as I already live near the school. However, I have heard that Emory in particular prefers to accept older applicants who have gained more "life experience." This may be evidenced by the fact that the students accepted in their most recent class were, on average, 29 years old.
Do you think being only 21 when I apply this month will hamper my chances of getting in at Emory? What about at the other schools?
